Curtains

We love a beautiful curtain, hand made, interlined what's not to get excited about? We get asked to wash curtains a lot but we always advise against it with some curtains. The reason why is quite simple, for curtains that are hand made and interlined will never hang quite right once they've been washed (no matter how careful your laundry expert is). Our best advise is to hoover them thoroughly every week and a couple of times a year give them a good steam clean, a good old fashioned "beating" always works well but we know that no everyone has space to do this outside and it's definitely an outdoor kind of job.

However, if you are absolutely sure that you want us to clean your curtains you need to be aware of the following:

• We will ask you to sign a Draper and Curtain Consent form
• Shrinkage is a definite posibility (2-3% shrinkage can occur)
• Curtain lining can shrink differently to curtain material, which can mean the lining hangs lower than the curtain after cleaning

We know this sounds serious stuff and it is, we take cleaning your items very seriously but we can't waive the magic fairy dust in certain instances and curtains are one such time that we have to make sure you are aware of the risks.
